The organization of a proximal defence in a PD as conducive to sleep and muscle pains, as a result of the activation of the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal and sympathoadrenal axes followed by a marked ACTH and cortisol release. Causes: neurobiological processes regulating anticipatory anxiety, being alone, stress and malnutrition. Maintaining causes: self-talk, a mistaken belief and claustrophobia. Answer: elimination of causes, others-talk and watching BBC Parliament.

In fact, the HPA axis is affected very little.
